Rotterdam’s Euromast Park will be hosting the biggest Chinese light spectacle in Europe, the China Light Rotterdam lantern festival, from 7th December 2012 until 14th February 2013.
Visitors will be treated to over 35 beautiful and elaborate lantern displays, including a 100-metre-long dragon and a small replica of Beijing’s Temple of Heaven (天坛), performances of Chinese music and dance, and laser shows. I went to a similar festival at Emmen Zoo a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Perfect for family outings, a fun evening out with friends, or a romantic walk in the park with a loved one.
Tickets cost €15 for adults, €8 for children aged 4 to 17, and free entry for all children under the age of 4. Tickets to the laser show are sold separately and cost €2.50 per person (free entry for children under 7). The park will be open daily from 16:30 to 22:00, except for Monday 31st December.
More information about China Light Rotterdam can be found on its official website.
